NEWBUILDCON Standard Shipbuilding Contract Seminar – a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about this new and much publicised international standard shipbuilding contract.
The publication of a new standard form of contract is rarely a matter that generates much interest among the world’s shipping press. The launch of the NEWBUILDCON Standard Newbuilding Contract in October 2008 bucked that trend with journalists from many of the major players in the maritime press vying for the opportunity to bring the news of this significant new contract to the attention of their readers.

Why is NEWBUILDCON generating so much interest around the world? Quite simply, because the Contract is the first standardised, neutral and clearly worded international shipbuilding contract to be developed. NEWBUILDCON is the product of two years intensive drafting work by a team of lawyers with expertise in representing the interests of both builders and buyers. It has already been critically acclaimed for its clear wording and logical structure and for the comprehensive details of its provisions.

Shanghai and Dalian Seminars

Four of the members of the original team that drafted this unique document will present key aspects of the contract and how it compares to other forms in current use. All participants will have the opportunity to ask the panel questions and discuss issues.
